Learning Module: Analysis: Streams and Watersheds

Purpose

The attributes that are associated with vector features allow us to perform powerful calculations to select features based on a huge variety of queries. ArcGIS supports basic hydrological functions to create stream networks and watersheds. We'll work with both of these to define sites for salamander study.

• Be able to select features with the "Select By Attributes" tool
• Be able to use "Field Calculator" to calculate new attribute values
• Project rasters
• Create hillshades from DEMs
